Biography
Alyssa Cwanger graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Fine Arts and Photography. She has worked as a Staff Photojournalist and Photography Editor for publications such as Newsweek, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, The Baltimore Sun, The Boston Herald, and The Philadelphia Daily News. She spent a year in Romania as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar in Photography and was awarded the U.S. Fulbright Scholarship to conduct a follow-up research project to a 2002 trip to Bucharest she made as a Photojournalist for Gift of Life International's "Flight for Life." In addition to the above publications, her photography has been published in The New York Times, Time Out Bucharest, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Los Angeles Times, The Financial Times, and US Weekly. In addition, her medical research and images have been published in the Journal of Neuroscience, the Journal of Neurochemistry, the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the Journal of Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science.
